Millennium Moon

December 22, 1999, the Moon was at the peak of a 133 year cycle, in conjunction with the last full moon of the year, the century and the millenium. It was also the winter solstice, the longest night of the year.

The Last Loop

We had an incredible day. What A Race! He had almost a year of training and several slow to moderate 50's leading up to this day. He was ready!! This horse LOVES to run!!

He has never accepted retirement and has been impatiently raising my two young sons, looking for the day he can take them and start a whole new generation of experiences.

First Star to the Right

This is the story of our first 100, Shadow's and mine.

His confidence and strength pulled us through when I had nothing left.

This is a very personal story for me. Someone, for whom I have Great Respect, told me that they felt it 'embodied the Spirit of Endurance'. I was speechless at the compliment, and felt that it was undeserved. This is not the story of a world champion, or even just one great race. In teasing, another friend said to me "you finished a Whole Day behind first place?" Yes, this was a 20+hour ride, we rode out of the night, all day and, again, all night. This is a story of one day in two lives, the twirling and tangling of silver threads, never to be separated. It tells of Companionship, of Coming Together through Joy and Strength, Hardship and Struggle. It is about Trust, Love, Caring and Depending on one another. It is about being tested, forging the bonds that can develop between two souls, no matter that they are not both human.
