As a four year old, MIREE is started under saddle and in harness and is going well with everything we've asked of her. She recently attended her first Cowboy Mounted Shooting match and performed admirably amidst all the excitement, strange horses, gunfire and balloons in spite of frigid temperatures and high winds.

Yes, Miree is an unusual color, especially for an Arabian. I'll try to address some of the most common questions but please feel free to email me. She is a pure-bred Arabian. (DNA tested parentage through AHA and well documented parentage back to the Sa'ud imports). Her color is not the result of sun-bleaching, even in Texas, the photos below will show that. [a photo of MIREE in her winter coat in January 2007. The row of photos below that was taken in May 2006. She does live in pasture in the Texas sun but in May shouldn't yet be faded or bleached from the sun.] The main difference between her summer and winter 'looks' is that her primitive barring is much stronger in her winter coat.
Both of her parents were distinctly bay and we don't have any explanations other than the possibility it's the expression of a rare recessive.
